For more than two decades, Virginia Natural Gas has taken the icy plunge for Special Olympics

Virginia Natural Gas “plunges their way” for Special Olympics

For 23 years, Virginia Natural Gas has been proudly supporting Special Olympics in the annual Polar Plunge event on Virginia Beach, helping to raise more than $480,000 in the process. What started as a way to support one of our team members and his family has grown into a part of our company’s culture. Year after year, the spirit of volunteerism has grown, not only forming yearly fundraising teams, but many of our team members have volunteered in the event concept, design and execution.

Team VNG has been voluntarily freezing for a reason for more than two decades and is committed to making a difference in the community we serve. Once our employees get involved, they keep coming back. While The Polar Plunge for 2021 looked a little different due to the pandemic, VNG rallied together virtually, and along with team members, friends, and families, raised $12,304 for Special Olympics in addition to a company donation of $15,000 for a total of $27,304. We look forward to putting our energy into events like this for years to come.
