Virginia Natural Gas Supports Special Olympics Virginia During the 2025 Polar Plunge

Virginia Natural Gas has embraced the chill for the past 27 years, committing to "Go for the Cold" by plunging into the icy Atlantic Ocean to support our local Polar Plunge event and Special Olympics Virginia.

This year, VNG’s Polar Plunge team had nearly 50 participants, including employees, family members and friends. Collectively, Team VNG raised over $50,000 in donations. Additionally, VNG contributed hundreds of volunteer hours to set up the fundraiser, assist Special Olympics staff on the day of the Plunge and clean up afterward.

A very special shout out to George Faatz’s 12 years of contributions to the Special Olympics! This year he achieved an extraordinary milestone, personally raising over $100,000 for the Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics. What an incredible accomplishment!

Over the past 27 years, Virginia Natural Gas has raised more than $500,000 to benefit Special Olympics, supporting training, competitions, leadership opportunities and health services for the Polar Plunge initiative.
