Even with small projects, like planting trees and shrubs, it’s important to call us before you dig to make sure you’re not digging where there are gas lines or other utility lines. In Virginia just dial 811 – or 800.552.7001 – to reach the state's diggers hotline, Miss Utility of Virginia. If you’re digging with mechanized equipment, the law requires you to call at least 48 hours before you dig.
